Product purpose and application

KN Jig Mop Chenille 6mm is a fly tying material designed for making simple and highly effective mop jig flies. These types of flies are widely used in fly fishing as well as in light UL spinning. Mop jig is a pattern that produces quick results and does not require extensive tying experience.

Material structure and features

The chenille material is made of dense, soft synthetic fibers and does not have a perfectly round cross-section. Before tying, gently twisting the material is enough to achieve a proper cylindrical shape. After cutting, it does not fray, however lightly melting the tip with a lighter can further improve durability and fly shape.

Applications and fly pattern selection

The material is mainly used for mop jig flies tied on jig hooks with tungsten beads. Typically, a short section of chenille is tied in directly behind the bead, while the space between the bead and the mop can be filled with dubbing, which increases the attractiveness of the fly after brushing. For this type of pattern, jig fly hooks work best, helping the fly maintain the correct position in the water.
