Kobberbassen is a great coastal sea trout fly and is one of the best selling flies in many Scandinavian stores. The fact that it is small does not mean that it does not catch big sea trout. Every year this fly catches big sea trout.
How to catch seatrout for Kobberbassen fly:
You can fish with small pull-ups of the fly line for 10-20 cm with breaks, but you can also use long pulls of 40-50 cm. Another way is long and easy pulls, you just have to try and hit the right way for the day.
Crustaceans imitated by Kobberbassen are often easy food for sea trout. You can fish this imitation, the water is calm, and also when the waves hit the land hard. Then the waves from time to time wash the crustaceans from their hiding places. The sea trout knows about it and is often close to the shore.
It can be used as the only fly, but is best used on a jumper in combination with another fly.
