About KN Baits & Flies

Hi! My name is Krystian Niemy, and for over 25 years my greatest passion has been fly tying and fly fishing.

I’ve been fishing since I was a child — starting with bobber and bottom fishing, and later becoming completely absorbed in fly fishing. In 1998 I tied my first fly and quickly realized it was more than a hobby — it was my lifelong passion.

I am the founder and owner of KN Baits & Flies, operated under my own name: KN Krystian Niemy, Górki Wielkie (Poland).

In this shop you will find hand-tied flies, fly tying materials, accessories, and tools — all carefully selected and tested on the water to be not only attractive, but above all effective.

In 2009 I started my blog flies-stepbystep.com , which I continue to run today. It’s a place where I share knowledge with both beginner and advanced fly anglers.

On the blog you will find plenty of useful information about materials, tools, and fly tying techniques, as well as many fly patterns — all described step by step.

I also run a YouTube channel: @KrystianNiemy , where I show the fly-tying process for various patterns and share videos from fishing trips.

I most often fish for brown trout in the Brennica River and rainbow trout in still waters on Polish and Czech fisheries.

Many of my flies catch fish all around the world — from the cold waters of Scandinavia, through rivers and lakes in Europe and the United States, to exotic fishing spots in South America and the Amazon jungle. It gives me great satisfaction to know my patterns perform well in such diverse conditions and locations.

For many years I have also participated in various angling gatherings and shows, where I have the pleasure of demonstrating fly-tying techniques to others. I love these events — the opportunity to talk, exchange experience, and create together brings me great joy.

I have been involved in the fishing industry for over 20 years, but above all, I remain a passionate angler — doing what I truly love.

If you are looking for well-crafted, proven, and effective flies, or you want to learn how to tie them yourself — you are in the right place.

If you are interested in tying your own flies, take a look at our carefully selected fly tying materials — tested in real fishing conditions and chosen with practical fly anglers in mind.

Best regards,
Krystian Niemy
